Other Information
*Previously incorrectly ID'd as MPS 05-41-02, this has been corrected to its correct ID*

Photos 1 & 2 (ca. 1960) were contributed by Chuck Desmond, who is the VP of the local museum.

The sign was painted on the side of the Paso Robles' first jail built in 1889. Used for about 20 years and then abandoned, it was torn down in 1965. The building has been re-created at the Pioneer Museum (photos 8 & 9) and there are plans to re-paint the Mail Pouch sign; however, this has not yet happened.

The coordinates below will take you to the approx. location of where the jail once stood.
Where to find it

*GONE (razed and removed)* In Paso Robles, a small town located half-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The building, which has been removed, was located on 12th St. at the RR tracks. One side. Brick jail. Black.
