Other Information

US Rt. new construction in the 1960's eliminated a dog leg in the original highway system. The original highway system travelled due east along what is now CO. Rd 88 (Mickley Rd) to an intersection with Co. Rd 41 where it turned north to where the road connects into US-62. Prior to the reconstruction the road that ran past the barn was the main highway. There were three Mail Pouch signs on the barn. One on each end and one on the west side. The signs on the south end and the west side are visible in photos 21 & 22. These were originally painted in the 1950's. The only sign remianing is on the north end of the barn and when it was repainted it was not painted with the original black background. There are red back gound Mail Pouch signs; however, when the red background is used the letters are shaded.

Where to find it

US-62 (Millersburg Rd.) east of Danville by about 2.0 miles. At Mickley Rd. (CR-88). On the right side of the highway headed east. There were three Mail Pouch signs on the barn. One on each end and one on the west side. All original black back ground. Only the sign on the north end remains improperly repainted with a red back ground. The signs on the south end and the west side have been painted over.
