Other Information
Note: The Zinn's photo album has the location noted as being south of New Geneva along PA Rt. 166. In the margin of the negative strip album there is a note that the barn is south of Uniontown. This note also includes the film negatives for MPB 38-26-13 which is in sequence with this barn. The terminus for US Rt. 119 and PA Rt 166 is south of Uniontown so there is a likely probability that this barn was located in the New Geneva area since Zinn's notes are more specific in his photo albums rather in his album of negatives.
Update 4/15/2018 Used the Penn Pilot program to locate this barn. Photos 5 & 6 are Penn Pilot photos showing the barn hi-lited in yellow, and other structures noted in the Zinn Photos 1-3 circled in red. In both photos the large barn behind the Mail Pouch barn is circled. in photo 6 the small structure to the right of the larger building (shown in photo 3) is circled in red. In photos 5 & 6 the houses across the street from the Mail Pouch barn are circled in blue to coordinate with the houses noted in photo 7. Historic Aerials' distance estimating tool was used to locate the barn. This tool, using 1980's aerial imagery provided athe decimal coordinates centered on the barn. The decimal coordinates were entered into the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 7 is the exact location where the Mail Pouch barn was once located.
Where to find it *GONE* (razed and removed) PA Rt. 166 (New Geneva Rd.) northwest of the intersection with US Rt. 119 (Morgantown Rd.) by about 0.6 mile. The barn was on the right side of the road headed northwest. One Mail Pouch end faced northwest. One Mail Pouch end faced southeast. Two ends. Black backgrounds.
