Other Information
Lee Cavano provided intial location information "At the northeast corner of OH Rt. 254 (Detroit Rd.) & Lear-Nagle Rd. in Avon". The Ohio Dept of Transportation aerial photo archives were used to 'fine-tune' the barn location. Photo 3 the Mail Pouch barn is circled in yellow. The Holy Trinity Church is circled in lime. In this photo the scale of the church was set and using the same scale the distance from the church to the center of the Mail Pouch barn was determined. Using the same scale on the Google satellite image the location of the barn was determined and the red pin on Photo 4 is the location where the Mail Pouch barn was once located. The red pin was used to determine the address and the coordinates. In Photo 4 the Holy Trinity Church is circled in 'lime'.
Lee Cavano reported that the barn was torn down in 1968.
The barn siding was used to panel the basement wall of Lee's father's home. The 'CHEW' was kept as a separate piece and is in Lee's home.
Where to find it *Gone* (razed and removed)* Along the north side of Detroit Rd. (OH-254) east of the Nagel Rd. intersection, in Avon, by 450'. The barn was on the left side of the road headed east from Nagel Rd. The Mail Pouch sign faced east. One end. Red Background.
