Other Information
Photo 1 is an enlarged inset view from Photo 2.
Location information (address) and fate of the Mail Pouch barn were provided to Vintage Aerial by Philip Larson (Nov. 18, 2016), who resided at the residence on the site. According to Larson, the property was sold to a developer who burned the Mail Pouch barn down and redeveloped the land to accommodate the new apartment buildings.
Historic Aerials' iimagery (1972) was consulted and the distance measurement tool used to deternine the decimal coordinates of the barn. The coordinates were input to the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 4 is the exaclt location where the barn once stood.
Photo 3 is a view taken from Dowling St. looking in toward where the barn once stood.
Where to find it *GONE* (purposely burned down sometime after 1987) Along the south side of Dowling St. east of the intersection with N. Riley St., in Kendallville, by 1.5 miles. The barn was on the right side of Dowling St. headed east out of Kendallville. The Mail Pouch sign faced west. One end.. Black background.
