Tom Plimpton's location was IN-57 north of IN-68 by 1.0 mile. Google map's distance tool measured 0.9 mile.

The barn is clearly visible in Historic Aerials' imagery (1987). The distance measurement tool was used to obtain the decimal coordinates for the barn. The coordinates were input to the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 4 is the exact location where the barn stood.

Photo 3 is a view looking in at the site of the barn from IN-57.

In reviewing Historic Aerials' imagery the barns were both existing 1987. In imagery dated 1992 the front part of the Mail Pouch barn had fallen. 1998 imagery shows that the Mail Pouch barn was gone; however, the smaller barn to the right, in Photo 1, still remained. By 2003, imagery showed both barns gone and the site cleared.

Where to find it

*GONE* (fallen and removed) Along the southeast side of IN-57 northeast of the intersection with IN-68 by 0.9 mile. The barn was on the right side of the highway headed northeast from IN-68. The Mail Pouch sign faced northwest. One end. Black background.
