Other Information
Photo 1 is an enlarged inset view from Photo 2.
The barn and other buildings (and site configuration) shown on Photo 2 is clearly visible in Historic Aerials' imagery (1969). The distance measurement tool was used to obtain the decimal coordinates. The coordinates were input to the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 4 is the location where the Mail Pouch barn once stood. There is a new barn on the same site.
In photo 2 in the lower right corner (to the left of the round watermark) there are 2 vertical concrete posts supporting the fence gate. In photo 3 (Google street view) the concrete posts still remain. Circled in red on the photo. The house is gone and the old barn is gone and a new barn is on the site where the old barn stood.
Where to find it
*GONE* (razed and removed) Along the west side of N US-231, north of the Washington St. intersection, in Greencastle, by 3.2 miles. The barn was on the left side of US-231 headed north away from Greencastle. The Mail Pouch sign faced east. One side. Black background.
