Other Information

This barn was the feature photograph for a September 1980 article in the Cincinnati Enquirer, by Judy Keene, titled 'The story of the Mail Pouch barn'.

The Ohio Dept of Transportation aerial photos were used to determine where this barn once stood. In Photo 2 (1980 ODOT aerial photo) the MP sign is barely visible. Note the vertical stripes on the corners of the east end of the barn. In addition, there is a white shingle shown on the barn roof in Photo 2 and the shingle is also visible in Photo 1. Photos 3 & 4 are ODOT aerial photos and the barn is circled in 'Yellow'. In the photos the house to the left of the barn is visible. On Photo 6 (Google 2020 satellite image the Google 'Red' pin locates the barn. The house is visible to the left. Finally, in Photo 5 (1993 ODOT aerial photo) the barn is shown as fallen. Because of the folliage the barn is not visible in the Google satellite view nor is it visible in any of the Google street view. The remains of the barn may or may not have been removed.
Where to find it

*GONE* (fallen) This barn was located along Batavia-Williamsburg Pike (Old State Rte 32) west of the intersection with OH Rt. 133 (Main St.), in Williamsburg, by 1.6 miles. The barn was on the right side of the highway headed west. The MP sign was on the east end of the barn. One end. Black background.
