Other Information

The photo is of the parade on Admiral Chadwick Day, in Morgantown. Checking other files for the 1899 parade it stated that the parade was along High St. In Photo 1 the steeple of Wesley United Methodist Church can be seen. These details were used to determine an 'APPROXIMATE' location for the building. Aerial imagery only extends back to 1982 for Morgantown. In addition, the availabel late 1800's and early 1900's maps indicate that the entire downtown area has changed significantly over the years. Using the Google street view to get a perspective of the steeple in relation to the existing buildings resulted in the location noted by the red pin on Photo 2. The decimal coordinates for that location were used to determine the possible location where the building with the Mail Pouch sign once stood.
Where to find it
