Photo 1 is an enlarged inset view from Photo 2.

Photo 2 (1973) is the thumbnail photo since Photo 3 (1969) the Mail Pouch sign is very difficult to see. A review of Ohio Dept. of Transportation aerial photos did not help in the review of this barn. One photo taken during the mid 1950's seemed to indicate that there was not Mail Pouch sign at that time. It appears that the sign was probably painted on the barn in the late 1950's or eraly 1960's. The barn was subsequetly painted white and the Mail Pouch sign covered probably by 1964 and by 1969 (Photo 3) the Mail Pouch sign was bleeding through the white overpaint. The old sign was more visible by 1973 (Photo1). As shown in Photo 4, the barn was again painted white by 1980 and the most recent photo (Google street view - 2022) the barn is still white.

Where to find it

*GONE* (painted over) Along the northeast side of OH-66 northwest of N. Main St. intersection, in Piqua, by 3.0 miles. The barn is on the left side of the higway headed nothwest out of Piqua. The Mail Pouch sign faced northwest. One end. Black Background.
