This is a recent find by Dennis Madia. Photos 1 & 2 (July 25, 2024). The Mail Pouch sign has been covered over with horizontal white siding for many years. There were many Mail Pouch barns in Brown County that have been located by Brnstormers or have been found researching old records such as Vintage Aerial. This barn is clearly visible in Historic Aerial's imagery dated 1950 so the original Mail Pouch sign could have been painted on this barn during the 1950's-60's. Subsequently it was covered over and as shown in Photo 3 the Mail Pouch sign was not visible in Sept. 2014. By Photo 4(May 2018) it appears that the horizontal siding, covering Mail Pouch sign, had started to break away and the top of the Mail Pouch sign gradually became visible (Photos 1 & 2). Based on the Google street views of the site, the buildings and grounds seem to be very well taken care of so it would not be a surprise if the barn were to be resided or receive a new coat of paint and the Mail Pouch sign once again covered.
Based on the configuration of the barn to OH-125, it is possible that originally there was a Mail Pouch sign on each end of the barn.
Where to find it Along the northeast side of OH-125 northwest of the Grany Ave. intersection, in Georgetown, by 1.9 miles. The barn is on the right side of OH-125 headed northwest out of Georgetown. The Mail Pouch sign faces northwest. One end. Black background.
