Other Information
The barn is clearly visible in Historic Aerials' imagery (1956 & 1983). Imagery dated 1998 indicated the barn had been razed and removed and the site cleared, by that date. The distance measurement tool was used to obtain the decimal coordinates of the barn. The coordinates were input to the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 3 is the exact location with the barn once stood.
Information provided by Jill Curnutt-Howerton stated that the Mail Pouch sign on the barn had been covered over for many years and the covering siding was finally removed sometime in the early 1980's. As previously mentioned the barn was finally razed and removed and the site cleared sometime before 1998.
Photo 2 is a view from IN-28 looking in toward where the barn once stood.
Where to find it *GONE* (razed and removed) Along the south side of IN-28 West of the IN-13 (Anderson St.) intersection, in Elwood, by 1.3 miles. The barn was on the left side of IN-28 headed west out of Elwood. The Mail Pouch sign faced west. One side. Black background.
