Other Information
Brad Brown reported that when he visited the site on Aug. 27, 2015 the barn was still standing; however, the Mail Pouch sign has been painted over and because of the tree growth the side of the barn is no longer visible from Providence Church Rd.
The barn is clearly visible in Historic Aerials' imagery (1949 - 1922). The early imagery (before the Mail Pouch sign was painted on the barn) shows there was a clear view of the side of the barn from Providence Church Rd. and from IN-37. No doubt this view was the reason the barn was selected as a Mail Pouch barn. As the Historic imagery progresses the trees and foliage gets more dense to the point that, as shown in Photo 2, the side of the barn is no longer visible.
Where to find it *GONE* (painted over) Along the west side of IN-37 north of IN-64 intersection by 6.5 miles. The barn is on the left side of IN-37 headed north from IN-64. The Mail Pouch sign faced north. One side. Black background.
