Other Information
The Mail Pouch barn and the small barn to the left in Photos 1 & 2 are clearly visible in Historic Aerials' imagery (1956 - and later). The distance measurement tool was used to determine the decimal coordinates for the barn. The coordinates were input to the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 5 is the location where the Mail Pouch barn once stood.
Photo 2 was taken by Dan Carraco to accompany an article by Jack Fincher, in the August 1982 issue of Smithsonian Magazine, entitled 'His paintings are national treasures - sort of, anyway', which is about Harley Warrick. This Photo, titled 'Pastoral scene north of Madison, Indiana' is on page 113 of the magazine.
Photo 4 is a Google street view looking in toward where the Mail Pouch barn was once located. The barn was to the left of the house in the distance.
Where to find it *GONE* (razed and removed) Along the east side of US-421 north of IN-62 intersection (northwest of N. Madison) by 8.5 miles. South of the Jefferson Co/Ripley Co line by 0.6 mile. The Mail Pouch sign faced west. One end. Black background.
