Other Information

In the Aug. 16, 2011 issue of SLO Happenings it states, 'SLO's iconic Mail Pouch Barn on Rt. 1 is being rebuilt!'.  Photo 11 (Google satellite image) indicates that the barn has been renovated and there is a new roof; however, as of the date of the aerial image (2026) the Mail Pouch sign has not been repainted on the roof. Bing Map's satellite imageery was also checked and it is dated 2026 and that view also shows the Mail Pouch sign is not repainted.
Where to find it

*GONE* (re-roofed) Along the southwest side of Cabrillo Hwy (CA 1) northwest of the intersection with US 101, in San Luis Obispo, by 2.3 miles. The house is on the left side of the highway headed northwest out of San Luis Obispo. The Mail Pouch sign faced northeast.
