Other Information

Photo 1 is from the Indiana State Library Archives.

This a unique sign. It has a two toned background. The bottom is definitely black. The top was probably either red or yellow. IF the date is correct, Roger Warrick believes that this is the earliest date for a Mail Pouch sign that he has seen.  It is generally believed that the first Mail Pouch signs on buildings started to show up in the 1990's.
Where to find it

*GONE* (painted over) Southeast corner of Prospect St. and Laurel St. intersection, in Indianapolis. The Mail Pouch sign faced west. Two story brick building. One side. Black backgkround.
