Other Information

Tom Plimpton's location information on his photo is "IN-39 north of IN-56 by 2.1 miles". Reviewing Historic Aerials' imagery (1943-2003) indicates a barn at exactly 2.1 miles north of IN-56. Imagery dated 2005 shows a new barn and a pile of rubble on the site. This is the rubble clearly shown in Photo 3 and is the remains of the fallen barn. The distance measurement tool was used to obtain the decimal coordinates of the barn. The coordinates were input to the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 5 is the exact location where the Mail Pouch barn once stood.

Photo 4 is a view taken from IN-39 looking in at the site toward where the old Mail Pouch barn once stood.
Where to find it
