Other Information

The Mail Pouch barn, the buliding to the left and the white (circular?) object to the right in Photo1 as well as the small tree in the foreground are all clearly visible in Historic Aerials' imagery (1984). The aerial view of the photo shows the roof in very poor condition so it is not known if there has been any upkeep on the barn through the years. If not, the Mail Pouch sign may be still be visible although very faded.

The location information provided by Tom Plimpton stated that the barn was along IN-2 1.0 mile south of the C & O RR tracks. These tracks hvve now been removed; however, the Google map distance from the RR track location to the barn is 1.0 mile.

The barn remains; however, the Mail Pouch sign is listed as *UNKNOWN*. Beside Photo 1 (1985), there are no other photos of the barn. The trees and foliage along IN-2 are too dense to allow for a view of the barn from IN-2.
Where to find it

*UNKNOWN* Along the northwest side of IN-2 south of the US-30 intersection in Valparaiso, by 6.1 miles. The barn is on the right side of IN-2 headed southwest from Valparaiso. The Mail Pouch sign faced northeast. One end. Black background.
