Other Information
The sign was removed, in June 2006, by Tod Swormstedt and his crew of helpers (including Barnstormer Roger Warrick) and transported to the American Sign Museum where it was reinstalled as an exhibit. Photos 3 & 4 show the sign in the new location.
Photos 5-26 were taken the day of the Mail Pouch sign removal.
Photo 19 is a view showing a raccoon stretched out on one of the beams.
Photos 27 & 28 are satellite views showing the skeleton of the barn still remaining. Photo 29 is a satellite view taken Sept. 2014 which shows that the barn framing was gone by that date and removed from the site. Photo 30 is a Google satellite image with the red dot indicating the location of the barn. The pin was used to determine the address and the coordinates.
Where to find it *GONE (MP sign removed - moved nd reinstalled in The American Sign Museum, in Cincinnati, Ohio)* Along the south side of IN-62, west of the Crestview Ave. intersection, in Lakeview, by 2.4 miles. The barn was on the left side of the highway headed west from Lakeview. The barn was visible in the woods and accessible through a field, across Little Indian Creek, up a rise to the left. The Mail Pouch sign faced north. One side. Black Background.
