The only location information on the Plimpton photo was IN-9 north of Maxwell. Historic Aerials' imagery (1984) were researched for the possible barn location. In the imagery the most likely candidate for the barn was noted and the distance measurement tool was used to obtain the decimal coordinates of the barn. Once the location was determined the Vintage Aerial photos for Hancock County, Indiana were searched and the barn noted in Photos 3, 4 & 6 were determined to be the Mail Pouch barn in Photo1. This was confirmed by comparing the notable features in the end of the barn in Photo 1 (see Photo 2) and Photo 4 (see Photo 5). Photos 2 & 5 and placed along side of each other in Photo 7 and the identical features in each photo confirm the barn to be the Mail Pouch barn noted in Photo 1.
The decimal coordinates obtained from The Historic Aerials' imagery (1984) were input to the Google map program. The red pin on Photo 8 (Google satellite image) is the exact location where the barn once stood. The entire site, as shown in the Vintage Aerial photos (Photos 3, 4 & 6) has been cleared. The pin was used to determine the address.
