Other Information

The barn is clearly visible in Historic Aerials' imagery (1986). The distance measurement tool was used to obtain the decimal coordinates for the barn. The coordinates were transferred to the Google map program and the red pin on Photo 3 is the exact location where the Mail Pouch barn was once located. The north route of US-231 has changed from the time of the photo (1987). The routing north has shifted to the west and it has become a two lane highway. In Photo 3 the lime highlites the route of US-231 in 1987 when the Mail Pouch photos were taken. It also helped to establish the address for the farm where the barn was located, with the farm entrance off of County Line Rd. The actual location of the barn is about 300' north of the Dubois/Spence County line.
Where to find it

*GONE* (razed and removed) Along the west side of US-231 north of I-64 by 1.0 mile. (see other information) The Mail Pouch sign faced east. One end. Black background.
