If the ODOT images (Photos 10 & 11) were not available showing that this was an original Mail Pouch barn back in the 1970's, it would have been presumed that this was an Owner Painted barn due to the style of the Mail Pouch sign letters. Photo 10, a 1960's view, shows that the west end of the barn did not have a Mail Pouch sign at that date. The 1970's view, while grainy, shows a sign on the west end by that date. It is apparent that when the sign was repainted just prior to Photo 1 date (1985) the classic Mail Pouch sign style, of the original Mail Pouch sign painters, was not adhered to. This barn gets its ID in the Main Section of the site due to its history as having been an original Mail Pouch barn in the mid to late 1960's through the early 1980's.
In 2000 the owner of the barn was Mark Bochart, who is pictured in Photo 2.
Photo 9 (Google satellite image) the red pin is centered on the barn. This pin was used to confirm the address and the coordinates.
Tom Fritsch visited the site on Dec. 30, 2023 and noted the original barn is now *GONE* and is replaced with a new building.
Where to find it *GONE* (razed and removed - replaced with a new building) At the northwest corner of the intersection of Old Forge Rd and Sunnybrook Rd. (CR-11), West of OH-43 by 1.4 miles. The barn is on the right side of Old Forge Rd., just past the intersection with Sunnybrook Rd., headed west from OH-43. The Mail Pouch sign faces west.
