Other Information

BD sign on an old carriage building now a saloon/casino.  The building housed a thriving blacksmith and carriage business right up to the davent of the automobile.  Due to mining operations the hills were deforested and as a result the town was frequently flooded. In Photo 1 the town has installed a temporary train track on Main to help remove debris after the 1895 flood. Photo 2 shows the aftermath of the 1910 flood.

The building is located on Main St. (Mt. Thomas Dr.) just southeast of CO Rt. 279 (Gregory St.), in Black Hawk. One end. Brick casino. Blue background.
