Other Information

Unique entry submitted to the Mail Pouch Facebook page in December 2024. There are no views of the barn available with the exception of the aerial view (Photo 6). The photos were submitted with the following information. "I metal detect old farms and on one have found 4 metal tags that seem to be related One says Mail Pouch Tobacco Co. And is dated 1957. The others are 1940’s. My dad remembers the old barn that stood by the road and he thinks it was a Mail Pouch Barn."

Aerial Photo 6 was purchased from Historic Aerials' for use in the website entry. Charles Pack had provided an aerial photo with his submission and that was used to exactly locate the barn location where he had been metal detecting. The distance measurement tool, on the Historic Aerials' website was used to determine the decmial coordinates of the barn. These coordinates were input to the Google Map program and the red pin on Photo 7 is the exact location of the barn. Photo 8 is a Google street view looking in toward the barn location from Flat Top Rd. (US 19).
Where to find it

*GONE* (razed and removed prior to 1967) Along the southeast side of Flat Top Rd., in Ghent. Probably one Mail Pouch sign on the southwest end since there is a barn door on the northeast end. Probably black background.
