Other Information

Very unique site. Actually two buildings with Mail Pouch signs. The larger barn has Mail Pouch signs on the north and south ends, on the east side; and, on the roof.  The smaller barn (shed) to the south of the larger building has a Mail Pouch sign on the rood and it appears there may be a Mail pouch sign on the south end.

Photos 4 & 5 (Google Earth views) are provided to show the Mail Pouch signs on the roofs of the two buildings.

Photo 6 is a Penn Pilot view which was used to help locate the barn. Photo 7 (Google Earth view) was provided to show the coordination with Photo 6 (Penn Pilot).

Note from Wyatt Coburn (July 3, 2023) "The larger of the two buildings was still visibly painted on the roof and eastern facing side. The smaller building was barely visibly painted on the roof. The entire site is horribly overgrown and inaccessible.".

Reported to the website that this barn is up for sale in July 2024 stated as: "Have an old Mail Pouch Tobacco barn for sale. It's right around 40 ft. by 70 ft. You tear it down and haul out. Make me an offer."

Where to find it

The two barns are located along River Rd. north of Smith Valley Rd., in Birdville, by 0.3 mile. The buildings are on the right side of the road headed north.
