Other Information

Photo 4 is an Ohio Dept. of Transportation aerial photo (barn circled in yellow) that shows that the extension that had been added to the barn was complete by early 1960. An inspection of Photo 1 indicates that the vertical siding boards with the Mail Pouch sign align with the wood barn siding above the roof of the extension. In addition, it appears that the vertical board at the far left, with the vertical blue Mail Pouch sign edging was the actual side of the existing barn. It seems clear that the Mail Pouch sign is a ca. 1950's sign that was on the side of the original barn prior to the extensions. The condition of the sign is attributed to the protection from the weather provided by the extension.
Where to find it

OH Rt. 145 (Malaga St.) southwest of OH Rt. 78 (Shenandoah Trail), in Lewisville, by about 1.0 mile. The barn is on the left side of the highway headed southwest. The MP sign, under a shed roof, faces north. One Side. Black.
