Other Information

Ohio Dept of Transportation aerial photos were used to determine the location of this Mail Pouch barn. The barn is circled in 'Yellow, in Photos 6 & 7. Also notice in Photo 2 the gambrel roof building to the right of the Mail Pouch barn. This barn is also visible in Vintage Aerial photos 4 & 5 and in ODOT photo 7 (1969). The barn is not existing in ODOT Photo 6 (1964) indicating the barn was not built until sometime after the date of Photo 6. The barn is still existing and has been circled in 'Lime' on Photos 7 & 8.

Where to find it

*GONE* (razed and removed) Along US Rt. 52 (Ohio River Scenic Byway) southeast of the intersection with OH Rt. 221, in Higginsport, by about 2.2 miles. The barn was on the right side of the highway headed southeast from Higginsport. The site is now the Brown County Rural Water Association. Mail Pouch sign was on the northwest end of the building.
