Other Information

Photo 6 was taken ca. 1972. At that time Middle Creek Rd. was routed diferently than it is today. That is why it looks like the barn is fronting on the road, instead of its present location back off of the road behind some buildings. The Historic Aerials' imagery (1961) clearly shows the road in the original position and the original position of the road is sketched in yellow on Photo 9. The distance measurement tool was used to obtain the decimal coordinates of the Mail Pouch barn and when the cordinates were input to the Google map program the red pin was directly on the Mail Pouch barn. The terms of the Historic Aerials' imagery progarm forbids copying or screen capture so the 1961 aerial imagery showing the Middle Creek Rd in the original position can not be shown of the site.

As noted in Photos 7 & 8 the trees that were blocking the barn from view have been removed.
Where to find it

Along the north side of Old Middle Creek Rd. (KY-114) between Prestonsburg and Salyersville. About 7 miles west of Prestonsburg. The barn is on the right side of Middle creek Rd. headed west. The Mail Pouch sign faces south. Black background.
