The following quote from the book 'The Barn Painter' by Harley Warrick.** "Jimmy Stewart was doing a movie in Moundsville, West Virginia called "Fools' Parade". In one of the scenes they wanted to have a Mail Pouch sign on an old brick building. The film company's crew had changed the appearance of a whole block of stores and made them look as they would have back in the Depression years. Mr. Bloch, who owned the Mail Pouch Company, asked me to take care of the assignment. After meeting with the person in charge and locating the building, I painted the sign on the brick wall. As soon as the sign was painted the decorators sprayed dust and dirt on the wet surface to make it look real old."
**About the book. Harley had often considered writing his own book. He had offers from several writers to help him write his story; however, it was always his desire to do the book himself. Finally, in 1999, he put pencil to paper. Unfortunately Harley passed away suddenly in November, 2000 without completing his book. Harley's son Roger and his daughter Lena Williams got busy and completed assembling the book which was published in 2004. As of the update of this entry (Dec. 2023) signed copies of the book are still available in the Mail Pouch Barnstormer's website store.
