Other Information

In November, 2011, the building housed the 9th Street Grille. The owner of the building wanted the city to provide some funds to help restore and preserve the Mail Pouch sign as an historical artifact. However, he was denied funding because the sign promoted tobacco use.

In Mt. Vernon - downtown. On brick building at 222 S. 9th Street between IL Rt. 15 (Broadway St.) and Jordan St. in Mt. Vernon. One side. Black/Brown. Greatly faded. Unique MP sign.
