Other Information
Since the building has been gone since the early 2000's; the coordinates and the red marker on the map below were developed using information provided by Gyla Schnauffer. There were two Mail Pouch signs on this building - MPS 38-37-05 and MPS 38-37-06 (see entry). According to a drawing Gyla provided on the back of her photographs, MPS 38-37-05 was on the right end of the south side of the building, toward the Neal St. & Shadyside St. intersection. It is evident that the site where the building once stood has been redeveloped and now includes a large building and a large storage tank. An examination of Photos 1 & 2 reveals a building in the background that has a stepped roof and several windows that are now sealed with white panels. This building remains and is clearly present in Photo 4 (Bing Map's bird's eye view). In addition, an examination of the remaining building, as shown in Photo 2 reveals a white lettered sign on the end of the building facing Neal/Shadyside streets. This sign is visible in Photo 5, confirming the building shown is the same as in Photos 1 & 2 and establishing the approximate location of the razed building and MPS 38-37-05.
